12 Tags of Christmas-Tag 7

Hello Bloggers,

Yikes, I'm falling behind...tonight's post is tag #7.  I liked this tag alot; I was missing all of the stamps that Tim used, but I had some great alternatives that I was able to incorporate.  Here's the link to Tim's step-by-step instructions.

Just thought I would take a minute to voice my concerns around tag #8.  Though it was my goal to complete all 12 tags, I'm really struggling with this one.  Aside from the inks, I have absolutely no components to make this tag, which happens to be Steampunk in nature.  It's been two days and no great ideas have come to me.  Tomorrow is Saturday, so I have some free time during the day to create, so we'll see what develops.  Not sure I'll be able to get tags 8,9 and 10 completed tomorrow, I highly doubt it, but check back to see what develops.

I did not have the background stamp Tim used, so I substituted the music notes from the "Holiday Wishes" set from Tim Holtz and "Grunge Background:"from Stamper's Best.  I had the ink and distress stains, so was able to get the color pretty close.

Again, I did not have the sentiment stamp Tim used.  I substituted with a Studio G $1,00 stamp from Joann's.  Since it was a square stamp, I decided to use my Nestabilities die labels 3 to cut out the sentiment to give it a bit more character.  I also spritzed it with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Glitz Spritz in Desert Moon Cactus Gold.

I had the Glassine Kraft that Tim used, as well as the alcohol inks, with the exception of the gold mixitives.  I used my Krylon Leaf pen in gold to obtain the effect.  It worked great.  I used circle punches to cut the holly leaves; a technique I learned from Jennifer McGuire's Holiday Card Boot Camp.

I had used my baubles in an earlier project, so made my own from findings from my stash.

Love it!!
