Merry Christmas

Hello Bloggers,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year.  My New Years resolution will be to keep this blog updated, at least weekly, with projects and crafts.  Here's a pic of my Christmas tree from this year.  This was a particularly good shot that I wanted to share.  Have a great week and we'll see you next year!

Happy Hanukkah!

Hello Bloggers!  Just wanted to wish all of my Jewish friends a Happy Hanukkah and share a couple of cards that I created.  This is a great time of year and only wish the day was longer than 24 hours so that I could get all that I want to do done.  Have a great evening and check back to see some Christmas projects that I've been working on.

This is a Lily, a digital stamp from Pink Cat Studio.  She's colored with my copic markers and I also used my Cuttlebug swirls folder for the background. Snowflakes embossed with clear embossing powder then inked with distress inks, then edged with a Martha Stewart punch.  A little sparkly ribbon and a homemade stickpin finish it up.  I have to admit, that the inspiration for this card came from Suzanne Dean.  I just love her copic coloring techniques and have learned a lot from her. Check out her blog!

This is a very simple card.  The Star of David was cut with my Cricut using the Joys of the Season cartridge.  The middle star was cut using metallic tape and the I applied alcohol inks, the small star is bronze metallic tape.  Both were embossed using the cuttlebug.

Thanksgiving Cards

Well, so much for my posting once a week.  I had good intentions, but I just couldn't quite keep up with the posts.  Anywho, here are some cards I've been working on for the last few days.  They'll be going out in the mail tomorrow.  I typically don't make cards for Thanksgiving, but I bought a Fall-themed stamp set from Joanne's  a couple of months ago and had to use it.  They were fun to make, but now on to Christmas projects.  Will attempt to keep updates coming regulary.  Until then, have a great Monday evening.

The stamp set is Pumpkins & Flourish from Inkadinkado, colored using my copic markers.  The card base is kraft cardstock from Papertrey Ink, mat is K&Company, Tim Coffey Fall Mat Pad.  I cut out the image using my new Nestabilities label #4.

The inspiration for this came from CardMaker magazine.  This is a new subscription for me and I LOVE it.  Simple card desgins and instructions to make them.  The turkey is paper-pieced using papers from the Tim Coffey mat stack.

This little guy is my fave.  This is Itty Bitty Bobby from Pink Cat Studio Digi Stamps colored with my copic markers.  Card base is More Mustard from Stamin Up and mat is from the Tim Coffey mat stack.

Weekend Projects

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.  The weather has been spectacular the last couple of days and the foliage here in the Northeast is breathtaking.  I was able to create a couple of cards in between my usual weekend chores.  One was a birthday card for my daughters, boyfriends, daughter.  She's turning 5 and loves princesses, so I took out my copics and colored a cute princess.

Hope you all a wonderful week and I'm hoping it goes by fast...

Princess Birthday Card

I made this card and coordinating envelope using the Doily card from the Wild Card cartridge.  The stamp is the Petite Q a Royal Princess which is a digi stamp from Tiddlyinks and colored with my copics.  All papers are from Paper Trey Ink; flowers from my stash.

These types of cards are not joyus, but unfortunatley are a fact of life.  These were made with the cuttlebug folder using papers from Paper Trey Ink and Stampin' up.  I accented the bird with glossy accents.

Gypsy Owners

I received an email this morning from Hallmark Scrapbooking regarding a promotion for new and previous owner's of the Gypsy by Provocraft.  I hopped on over to the Cricut messagboard and checked it out, since I am the proud owner of a Gypsy (though I never use it).  Below is a copy of a post from the Cricut board administrators:

Buy and register a Gypsy by Cricut by October 31 and receive 6 free cartridges downloaded to your Gypsy – including the exclusive, all-new "Smiley Cards" cartridge (and don't forget about Gypsy Wanderings and Gypsy font cartridges that come pre-loaded on the machine). It's a $419 value!

Free cartridges include:

 Smiley Cards (new and exclusive to this promotion)

 Tags, Bags, Boxes and More (not available in retail)

 Christmas (not available in retail)

 Blackletter (not available in retail)

 Printing Press (not available in retail)

 Indie Art (not available in retail)

All current Gypsy owners included! Simply register your Gypsy by October 31, 2010 and get access to all downloads. Register at www.cricut.com/gypsy.

Downloads will be available through a special update to your Gypsy starting November 1st.

New Gypsy cartridge downloads are easy! Just connect your Gypsy to your computer and you'll automatically be prompted how to start. In just a few steps, you'll be able to download all six cartridges containing thousands of images! And with Gypsy, you'll have all the cartridge artwork and keypad overlays on your Gypsy screen, so there's no actual cartridge, handbook, or packaging.

You only have a few weeks. Don't miss out!!

Thought I would share this great offer.  I do not have any of the carts listed above, so I am very excited.  I had considered selling my Gypsy, but I think I'll keep it.

Halloween Cards

Hi Everyone.  I 've been super busy at work.  The first week of every month is just a killer.  Since posting a little over a week, my intent was try to post to my blog at least once a week (I'm just a couple of days late).

Halloween is not one of my favorite holdiay's, but I love to make Halloween cards.  Here are a couple I've made over the last month or so for my nieces and some friends children.  Check out my Youtube video at the bottom of the page to see some other creations.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

This digi stamp is "Pinky" from the Gothic Cute colletion from Tiddly Inks.  I used my copics to color the image, flowers are prima colored with Lindy Stamp Gang Starbust stains.  I made the center.

For this card, I used a Sizzix die for the ghosts that I got this past winter in the clearance section at Joann's.

The image for this easel card is Wednesday from The Greeting Farm.  She's colored with my copics.

This is another digi stamp from Tiddly Inks, again, colored with my copics.  All papers are from the Midnight Spell stack from DCWV.

Challenge #7

Here's my creation for the 7th challenge which was to create a birthday card, but without using the phrase "Happy Birthday".  I FINALLY used my Mariposa paper that I've had since last January and used some of my xtra large Prima flowers that never seem to fit on any of my other projects.  The flower center is from Websters Pages.

Challenge #5

Here's my creation for challenge #5 over at Creations with Christina.  I always try to make multiples of Christimas cards, so I made 2 of these.  I got the santa stamp last year at Michaels, heavily discounted since it was after the holidays.  I've been waiting a long time to use it.  I also was able to use my brand new Graphic 45 Christmas Past collection.  Love it!!

Creations with Christina World Card Making Day

I thought I would take part in Christina's challenges today.  I got a late start, so started with challenge #2, which was to design a card using pink as the primary color.  Here is my submission.  I used a stamp set that I've had for at least 3 years, if not more.  The set is called Domestic Goddess by See-D's.  I will attempt to complete a couple of the other challenges, but since I'm such a slow-poke when it comes to crafting, I may only get to finish one other.  Check out Christina's blog for to see all of the wonderful cards and to enter her many give-aways.   http://www.creationswithchristina.com/

Mini Album Complete!!

I've finally completed the mini album for my good friend to celebrate the purchase of her first home. We're visiting with her next week, so it was imperative that I get this finished.  The album was constructed using plain old legal envelopes from Staples.  I followed a wonderful tutorial from Laura over at Following the Paper Trail   http://followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com/.  The album was covered with DCWV Old World Stack.  Here's just a couple of pictures.  You can view the completed album in a YouTube video at the bottom of this page.

June Flower Swap

Hi Everyone.  I participated in a flower swap over at Your Paper Pantry and just finished up my creations and will be mailing them out tomorrow.  It was loads of fun making the flowers and I'm looking forward to receiving the other swap partners flowers back.  I think they came out pretty nice.  I can't wait to participate in future swaps.  Check out the site.  There's tons of different crafting groups to join and everyone is so nice.  Thanks for looking and please leave me a comment.

Some Old Projects

I have some projects that I plan on posting, but they're still residing in my camera. So in the meantime, I decided to post some pics of a couple of old projects.  These are name signs that I made for my two nieces and my mother a couple of years ago as Christmas presents.  I used my Cricut to cut out the names and tags. I used Jasmine for the diamond shapes and Plantin Schoolbook for the other names.  Stay tuned for some recent projects that I'll be posting shortly.  Have a great day!!
