Winter Wonderland Tag Swap

Hello Bloggers,

Well, I've finally completed the tags for the swap that I signed up for back in November.  I was able to get the bulk of them completed last weekend and then was back to work last week and worked on them each night for an hour or so.

The theme was "Winter Wonderland", using blue silver and white.  They also were suppose to be shabby chic, not sure I pulled that off, but I like they way they came out.  I chose to follow a technique that I used on my favorite Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas.  Here's the link to Tim's instruction on how to create the background all done with inks, stamps and distress stains.

Tomorrow's the beginning of another week.  I have a 4-day weekend coming up which I plan to complete the craftroom redesign.  Until then...

I used the label from the Tim Holtz tag die.  I used metal tape in grungeboard, embossed with the "textile" Cuttlebug embossing folder and used a couple of different metallic products to antique it.  I then stamped the snowflakes and "winter" and made a shaker frame and used diamond dust to mimic snow.

I made the charms myself!

The deer is cut from the Tim Holtz Reindeer Flight die.  I used his technique to get the aged appearance.  The link above provides instruction.

The back of the tag.  I used a glassine envelope to house the mini tea dyed tag with my information

All six!  Oops, I forgot to make one for myself...Oh well, I have my original from the 12 tags of Christmas.

  1. Absolutely beautiful! Now, what does one use these gorgeous tags for? They look like keepers, to me. XO
