Art Journal Birthday Gift

Hello Bloggers,
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far.  As I write this post, I'm looking out the front window and watching the snow fall and quickly accumulate.  That's right, October 29th and we're getting a major snowstorm here in the Northeast.  Though not uncommon to get snow in October, the amounts they're predicting is rare, 6-10 inches where we are.  I'll be sure to post some pics later on, but for now, I'd like to share an art journal, well, maybe drawing book would be a more appropriate description, and a birthday card.  This is for a little girl who just turned 6 who loves to color and draw.  I've included a 50 pack of Crayola Markers and an assortment of stickers to go along with it too.  The pages are blank, so she can draw, write and stick the stickers anyway she'd like.

I purchased a 9x12inch sketch book, took the wire binding off and cut it in half to make two 6x9 books.  I'm just about finished with the second book and will hopefully post tomorrow.  I then just used my Bind-it-All and re-bound the book.

Have a great rest of the weekend and check back later for some snow pics.

I used DCWV Songbird paper stack and "fussy-cut" a lot of the images from the paper.  In fact, the only elements not from the paper are the buttons, flowers, and the bling.

The digital stamp used on the card is Big Pressie Tia form Some Odd Girl.  I colored the image with my copics and paper pieced the present.  I used DCWV Nana's Nursery paper stack and I pulled out the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder and did a bit of embossing.  Some prima bling was added to finish it off.

Halloween Cards

Hello Bloggers,

I haven't kept up with my promise to keep this blog updated.  I subscribed to many other blogs and am impressed the so many of them update daily with projects they've created and they all work outside jobs to boot.  Kudos to them.

I have a couple of Halloween cards I created that I'd like to share.  I've used the same stamped image, Mumford the Mummy, which I absolutely LOVE.  You've got to check out this designers other stamps at All That Scraps.  She's just wonderful and she also has some wonderful copic marker coloring tutorial over on YouTube.  Check her out; you won't be disappointed.

The papers were from last years DCWV stack.  The fence and bats were cut with my Martha Stewart punch.  It's a bit blurry, but there's a spider brad with some bling on the fence.  Mumford is colored up with my copics.

This card was made with a paper stack from K&Company from this year.  The layout for this card was inspired by Amy, aka Prairie Paper and Ink over on YouTube. She had a wonderful Halloween series and this layout was one of the cards she created. Make sure you check her out.  The seam binding and Prima flowers were colored up with some Lindy's Stamp Gang and the skull is a brad from my stash.  Mumford was colored up with my copics.

New Lawn Week #4

Hello Bloggers,

Here we are at week #4.  We mowed the lawn for the first time.  Barry and I shared the task with a very heavy, push mower.  Our lawn guys weren't very interested in hand-mowing the lawn, so we decided to do it ourselves, what a workout!  We put too much money in the darn thing to have it all torn up with heavy-duty riding mowers.  We're both very pleased with how it's growing in.

I hope to be able to work on a couple of craft projects this week.  With my recent vacation and then returning to the busiest week of the month at work, haven't had much opportunity to craft.  I'm having withdrawals...

New Lawn Week #3

Hello Bloggers,

Well, I'm a few days late in posting this...  we were on a wonderful vacation at St. Pete Beach in Florida, so wasn't home to take the pic on Saturday.  The lawn did quite well while we were away.  Here are the latest updates!
