My First Whimsy Girl Canvas

Hello Bloggers,

Today I have the day off from work, just a random day that I wanted to devote to art, and was able to finish up my first Whimsy Girl Canvas.  As mentioned in a previous post, I signed up for a workshop and have been playing ever since.  I had such a blast and am planning on using the technique I learned and make some Whimsy Girl boxes for my nieces.  The workshop is still open for enrollment, so check it out.  You won't be disappointed.

I call her "Bee Girl".  She's on  a 6x6 canvas.  The workshop teaches you how to draw the girls, color them and apply them to either a canvas or journal page.

This first canvas is for me, so the sentiment is quite meaningful.

I used both copic markers (skin, hairband and eyes) and acrylics (hair, lips and tunic) to color her up and used some gorgeous papers for the collage on the background.

Side of the canvas; love all of the glitter and sparkle.

She's temporarily hanging in my kitchen right now.  I have to find a better spot!

This is a journal page that I completed last week with of the very first girls I drew and colored.  This one was colored entirely with copic markers.  I wasn't entirely happy with the results, which explains the meaning behind the sentiment.  Practice, practice, practice!!

Check out the YouTube video below for more info about the workshop!  Toodles for now...
